2016 Commission Meeting Schedule

Tuesday, February 9, 2016 

The Fish and Game Commission usually holds a public hearing in conjunction with each regular meeting. Members of the public who want to address the commission on any topic having to do with Fish and Game business may do so at the public hearing. All testimony will be taken into consideration when the commission makes decisions on agenda items at the meetings.



   March 9, 10, 11, 2016 / Special Meeting   
  • Location: Boise, ID
  • Public Hearing: March 9
  • Routine Agenda Items: Legislative update; Season setting: deer, elk, pronghorn, bear, mountain lion, wolves (biennial 2017). Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals. Season Setting: Chinook salmon. Migratory game birds briefing.


   May 16, 17, 18, 2016 / Quarterly Meeting   
  • Location: Coeur d’Alene, ID
  • Public Hearing: May 16
  • Routine Agenda Items: Season setting: Chinook salmon; FY18 budget direction. Season Setting: Migratory game birds (waterfowl seasons and limits). Season Setting: sandhill cranes and doves. Commission direction on the expenditure of Wolf control Board funds. Election of Commission chair, vice-chair. Briefing on auction and lottery tags. Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals.


   July 6, 7, 8, 2016 / Quarterly Meeting   
  • Location: Jerome, ID
  • Public Hearing: July 6
  • Routine Agenda Items: Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals; Rules: nonresident deer and elk tag quotas; nonresident deer and elk tag outfitter set-aside; Consider release of bighorn sheep tags for auction and lottery; Commission direction on the expenditure of Animal Damage Control funds; legislative proposals; FY 18 Preliminary Budget to Commission. Season Setting: Chinook salmon.


   August 2016 / TBD   
  • Routine Agenda Items: Rules: Nonbiological for all game animals; Season setting: Sage-grouse seasons; FY 18 budget approval.


   October 2016 TBD / Conference Call   
  • Routine Agenda Items: Ratification of rules.


   November 16, 17, 18, 2016 / Quarterly Meeting   
  • Location: Lewiston, ID
  • Public Hearing: November 16
  • Routine Agenda Items: Season setting: 2016-2018 Fishing Seasons (triennial); Appoint Commission representative to WAFWA.
