


Sandpoint Fish Hatchery

The Sandpoint Hatchery facility can be reached from Highway 95, south of Long Bridge, turn left (west) and proceed approximately 1 mile to the hatchery.
Site Overview
Sandpoint Hatchery is the third oldest facility in the state, built in 1908. It is the redistribution site for rainbow trout and future site of the Sandpoint Waterlife Center. Fish from here are used in high mountain lake stocking during the months of August and September.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome dawn to dusk during the summer. The nature trails and fish viewing window for the Waterlife Discovery Center are open dawn to dusk daily.
Species Production
Rainbow trout and Westslope cutthroat trout.
