Idaho Fish and Game closed fishing for Chinook salmon on the South Fork Salmon River at the end of fishing Sunday, July 14.
And the Snake River will close effective the end of fishing Friday, July 19.
Angler surveys show the fisheries, through Sunday, July 14, have harvested 90 percent of the state's harvest share of adult hatchery Chinook salmon returning to those rivers
Trapping of adult Chinook salmon for hatchery brood stock will continue on the South Fork Salmon River and Rapid River.
Meanwhile fall Chinook salmon fishing seasons on parts of the Snake, Clearwater and Salmon rivers open September 1.
